As if the comic book blogosphere hasn’t talked enough about Superman the past week, I’ve thrown my hat in the ring (in addition to my Superman/Spider-Man re-post earlier today) by focusing on 1993’s Adventures of Superman #500 in my latest entry of “Gimmick or Good?” at CBR’s Comics Should Be Good blog. This comic came out six months after the shocking “Death of Superman” story (profiled here in Gimmick or Good?) and marked the “return” (sorta) of Superman. The comic was sold in a white polybag with a “translucent” cover (whatever that even means). Did I rain on this week’s Superman parade and declare the comic a “gimmick,” or did I find the story inside the polybag to be worthwhile?
